Keep It Rural – Many of us live in Clark County because of the wide open spaces and relaxing, country charm. We can keep this rural character as well as the rural economies it supports, while protecting private property rights and compensating landowners with fair market prices. At the same time, we can promote growth within our urban areas and create new walkable communities where jobs are close to homes, services, and entertainment. All we have to do is try. I would bring new expertise and energy to the Clark County Council to work on these solutions, and provide a balanced, independent perspective, working closely with you to plan a better future for Clark County.
Promote Local Jobs - Clark County can still be a place where people want to live and work. If we plan ahead and build responsibly, we can create attractive communities where businesses want to locate. For workers, we can be a place that provides family-wage jobs close to affordable homes -- where people can walk to stores and restaurants, and still be surrounded by beautiful open spaces and working family farms that maintain our rural character.
Fiscally Conservative – I don’t believe in wasting your money. I believe in small, efficient government. I have successfully managed large budgets and run nonprofit businesses. As a conservative fiscal manager, I will keep an eye out for inefficiencies and work hard to focus our limited resources on your top priorities. I will do this without putting extra financial burdens on residents, without sacrificing growth and development, and while sustaining a strong labor force that provides family-wage salaries and benefits.
With COVID-19, we will need someone who can balance the increasing needs of families and businesses with a decreasing County budget. I believe I can be that independent perspective who will represent all interests fairly as we figure our way out of this challenging situation.
Let's get started - Together we can make an even better Clark County!
